Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs’ conversation with Todd Gurley has Bills Mafia’s attention – syracuse.com

Stefon Diggs has not been a member of the Buffalo Bills for long, but it appears that he may already be recruiting players.

On Thursday, Diggs was taken by surprise over the Los Angeles Rams releasing Todd Gurley.

When Gurley made a reference to the movie Friday, Diggs responded and a conversation unfolded that caught the attention of many members of the Bills Mafia.

Whether it is playful banter or Diggs is truly attempting to recruit Gurley, the Bills will have the final say in whether or not they pursue the former Rams running back. The Bills could be in the market for a veteran running back to pair with second-year running back Devin Singletary, but their interest in Gurley could come down his medicals and asking price.

Gurley, at one point, was among the best running backs in the league. He had over 2,500 yards rushing and 40 total touchdowns between 2017-2018. His numbers, however, fell off in 2019 with just 857 yards rushing on 223 rushing attempts (3.8 YPC). In his career, Gurley has 5,404 yards rushing and 58 touchdowns as well as 2,090 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air.

The biggest question surrounding Gurley is the status of his arthritic knee. Any team that has potential interest in Gurley will likely have to wait to do a medical check on the 25-year-old running back.
