This time, Krasinski — who is from the Boston area — talked to a group of hospital workers. And as they talked about missing baseball, Big Papi boomed into the chat with a big smile and a message:

“I gotta tell you guys from the very bottom of my heart how much I love you and respect you for what you guys are doing. Taking your lives, taking your time, that’s something that it goes beyond everything so the Red Sox are gonna donate four tickets for life to you and everybody at Beth Israel.”

Four Red Sox season tickets is no small prize. As Krasinski explained, he’s been on the waiting list for 16 years and hasn’t been able to get season tickets yet.

The surprises didn’t finish there, as Krasinski directed the six guests from Beth Israel’s coronavirus response team to a duck boat waiting outside the hospital — “the most sanitized duck boat in America,” he said — which then took them to a Fenway Park for a private visit. They ran the bases, did the wave and yelled “Boston Strong” before leaving.
